WHO WE ARE
This blog is dedicated to the Alpha Chi chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority's efforts to build confidence and inspire action in women everywhere. Our sisterhood is set apart not only by its strength, but also by its national commitment to celebrating women and their friendships. As Kappa Deltas, we are passionate about not only about women's confidence and relationships, but also about our philanthropic endeavors. Kappa Delta's across the country dedicate much of their calendar year to serving and raising money for both the Girl Scouts of America and Prevent Child Abuse America, as well as individual, local needs. Here, we will recognize our sisters' achievements and most importantly, keep our alumnae, family, and sisters, updated.
As far as what we've been up to: last May, the Alpha Chi Chapter was the 2019 recipient of the Greek Chapter of the Year award, on behalf of our outstanding academic achievements as well as our involvement on campus and in the community. We have held the highest Greek GPA on Louisiana Tech's campus for 29 quarters straight, and continue to maintain the most 4.0's each quarter. Additionally, we hold the most on campus leadership positions, totaling up to over 30% of our chapter!
Here, we will highlight our philanthropic activities like our annual Shamrock 5K run where in the most recent year, we raised over $32,000 to support the needs of both the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home and Prevent Child Abuse America. Our sisterhood also loves investing time at various Girl Scout events where we encourage them to lead confident lives and to inspire others.
The Alpha Chi chapter is also the 2019 recipient of the Council Award - the highest honor a chapter can receive from National Kappa Delta. We recently welcomed National President, Tricia Spence, to Ruston and Louisiana Tech where she presented the award to the chapter, University officials, and prominent members of the community.
While this site serves its purpose of holding pictures and stories about all things Kappa Delta, its goal lies in that we want our readers to see what exactly makes us special. Additionally, we want to bridge the gap between future members and current ones, as well as sisters in house and sisters for a lifetime. So be interactive, reach out, and follow our posts.
To our alumnae, we would love to keep in touch! Look to your right and drop us a line to subscribe to our alumnae newsletter sent out twice annually. Additionally, if there is something you would like to know more about, let us know there! Just want to know when a new blog entry is live? Scroll to the bottom of the screen and subscribe to our email alerts. Trust me, you can't wait to read them.
Now that you know a little bit more about who we are, take a look around and catch a glimpse into our sisterhood!
Love and AOT,
Vice President Public Relations
