My past year serving our chapter as Vice President Community Service has been one of the most fun experiences of my life. This position taught me so much about leadership and teamwork – it brought me some of my best friends and challenged me to step out of my comfort zone in ways I never really expected to. Community service opportunities like the Shamrock 5k and International Girls Day were so fulfilling, yet so humbling, because I got to see my sisters consistently putting the needs of others above their own as they poured into the kids every chance they could. Serving in this position also gave me a deeper appreciation for our genuine sisterhood because the chapter truly surrounded each event with enthusiasm and excitement to make every single one not only fun, but a success!
Each of the community service teams within the chapter that I served alongside have brought me some of my fondest KD memories, like laughing in the park the day before Shamrock with my team while we set up the course, and taping up balloons before a girl scout event while having deep life talks with the girls who came to help. It is clear that holding the position of VP-CS has grown me so much as a leader, as a friend, and as a servant, and I will be forever grateful for all the amazing friends and memories I have made (and I am really going to miss making cupcakes and doing crafts with all the Girl Scouts and kids at the LMCH).
I am so pumped to get to serve the chapter on council again as President for this upcoming year.
I can’t wait to see the new challenges, opportunities, and friendships this year holds and how our chapter continues to grow stronger in every way possible.
