To my sweet little, red-headed twin, galentine, and sister, Abby-
One of the craziest things about life, in my opinion, is looking back on the first time you met someone who is now such a huge part of who you are. It’s hard to imagine a time when you weren’t one of my very best friends, yet it was only a few months ago that we were complete strangers.
I remember walking into Uptown Downtown that day with my hopes, admittedly, way too high. The only conversations we had were in passing in our sociology class, but I was really excited when I got you as my rose bud for the week because I thought you were so sweet (and how cute would it be to keep the redhead theme in the fam?!)! We sat down, and I was crossing my fingers, hoping you felt the same.
And then it hit me -- while we were digging into our cupcake and talking about anything and everything as if we had known each other forever, I thought, “Okay wow, I really like her!!” And a little panic set in because I was pretty sure it was too good to be true. “I’m sure she already has someone in mind. Everyone would love her,” I thought as I headed to my car.
Little did I know, you didn’t think I was lame after all #lol, and that there would be many more lunch dates, conversations that last hours, laughs that make our stomachs hurt, and memories that I’ll cherish forever.
I am so thankful for our friendship, today and every day. You and Kappa Delta deserve all the love letters in the world, because you have both taught me a lot about what true friendship really looks like, and I am forever grateful.
Love always and AOT,
